AXON gives AI agents safe access to paid services over x402. Operators get a live catalog of services, trust signals, and a governed runtime for 402 Payment Required spending. You can start on the hosted path with npx @axon402/init, or you can self-host the Decision API and dashboard with Live Onboarding.

The Problem

Autonomous agents now need to find, evaluate, and pay for real services using protocols like x402. Two things break the loop today:
  • Discovery is fragmented — no canonical place to browse paid x402 services with fresh prices, schemas, and trust signals.
  • Execution is unsafe — an agent with raw wallet access can drain its budget in minutes, pay unvetted endpoints, or sign transactions nobody reviewed until the bill arrives.

What AXON Does

Before every payment, AXON checks the agent’s mandate — daily budget, per-transaction cap, allowed hosts, blocked hosts, purpose alignment. If the request is safe, AXON signs the EIP-3009 payment on Base. If not, it denies, throttles, or escalates to a human. Every decision and receipt is stored. Every denial is explainable. Every approval flow has replay protection and expiry.

Hosted Runtime Quickstart

Bootstrap a governed agent on the hosted path with npx @axon402/init.

Self-Hosted Live Onboarding

Bring up Supabase, the Decision API, and the dashboard on your own infrastructure.

Operations

Deployment, auth, security, runbook, and webhook guidance for launch and ongoing operations.

Launch Posture

  • Hosted path is the fastest way to go live with governed agent spending.
  • Self-hosted path is for teams that need their own infra, secrets boundary, and operational control.
  • Runtime and operator are separate surfaces. Runtime keys are wallet-scoped. Operator work lives in the dashboard, axon-op, or the operator MCP surface.

Core Concepts

Organizations, wallets, mandates, and spend lifecycle.

Integrations

Runtime MCP, REST integration, OpenClaw, and two-surface IDE setup.

API Reference

Decision API endpoints, MCP tools, and error codes.

CLI

@axon402/init for hosted runtime bootstrap and axon-op for control-plane operations.

What This Repo Ships

When You’d Use This

  • Research agent buys $0.35 market snapshots from a paid x402 API — AXON enforces a $25/day cap and blocks unknown providers
  • Coding agent needs premium LLM inference — AXON checks the mandate allows api.openai.com and the request stays under the per-transaction limit
  • Autonomous workflow runs overnight — AXON requires human approval for anything above $1.50, and the approval token expires in 5 minutes
  • Multi-agent org with 10 agents — each has its own wallet, its own mandate, and the treasury vault funds them via auditable transfers

The x402 Payment Flow

Total AXON latency: < 200ms (policy + signing)

Supported Networks

Public launch docs only describe the current GA payment path: USDC on Base. Do not plan mainnet Ethereum or Arbitrum production rollouts from this site yet.
