# Consume Approval

> Get a short-lived approval token for retrying a request

Returns the short-lived `approval_token` that must be passed back into the retrying request.

Despite the name, this fetch is read-only and idempotent. The token is actually consumed by the retry path when AXON matches it against the original request context.

## Authentication

Any caller that can access the underlying approval request may use this route: static operator key, tenant API key, or authorized platform session.

```bash theme={null}
curl -X POST \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer $TOKEN" \
  "http://127.0.0.1:3030/v1/approvals/$APPROVAL_ID/consume"
```

### Response

```json theme={null}
{
  "approval_id": "uuid",
  "approval_token": "7c758c6c-7f3d-4f7d-9b0b-ff6e6f1b2b58",
  "expires_at": "2026-05-03T12:00:00.000Z"
}
```

### Retry with Approval Token

```bash theme={null}
curl -X POST http://127.0.0.1:3030/v1/ssar/fetch \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer $TOKEN" \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d '{
    "url": "https://provider.example/path",
    "intent": "Purchase the paid result",
    "task_id": "task-001",
    "wallet_id": "<POCKET_WALLET_ID>",
    "idempotency_key": "original-request-key",
    "approval_token": "<APPROVAL_TOKEN>"
  }'
```

> [!WARNING]
>
> Approval tokens are short-lived and request-scoped. Retry the same logical request: same URL, method, and body. AXON binds the token to that original request context.
